Bickle's Guide to Surviving a Zombie Invasion

A guy posted this on my forums: http://www.ssfclanbase.com/modules.php? ... topic&t=24
Travis_Bickle wrote:Welcome to my guide to surving a zombie invasion. This guide will give you some tips for fighting those evil cretins and even being one.

First lets discuss the two types of human hiding spots. #1: "Out of reach". These are the spots that require patience and timing to get to, example: the roof in cs_assault left of the CT spawn site. This is a spot that pretty much guarantees a win for the human side because the zombies can never get around the fence without usually being blasted off into the street. The second kind of hiding spot are the "forts" these are mainly the office maps where players will barracade themselves into rooms using furniture and vending machines to close off doorways. This kind of hiding spot usually doesn't win the game because the zombies can keep pushing away at the furniture until it lets them through (skilled ones usually make clean jumps over the furniture when no one is paying attention). The maps usually have only one type of way for players to hide.

Here are some tips to building a good fortification.

1. Always put couches before heavy items (vending machines, metal desks..etc) the weight of the heavy objects will keep the zombies from slowly pushing your barracade out of the way. Example, put a couch infront of a doorway and place a vending machine behind it. This will not only make it harder for zombies to push your barracade but it will also slow them down enough to give you an extra second to shoot them back out.

2. When there are a lot of people in one room there will almost always be people who shoot the barracades too much in an attempt to get them placed perfectly. These are the forts that fail because the barracades are blown open for the zombies! If you have time find another place to make fort, there is usually always another group of players hiding out somewhere with some better sense.

3. DON'T SHOOT OTHER BARRACADES BECAUSE YOU WANT TO GET IN! If theres one thing that really makes me angry is when some person running from a zombie comes through with his P90 and blows over everything you put together just to get everyone in the room infected!

4. If you are in a "Out of reach" hiding spot, it will have to be extremely good or chances are they will find a way to get you. I would only suggest going to an OfRS if you know for sure you can fend them off or you have enough humans to mow the zombies down.

5. Most people don't know that the first zombie has 5000 health and the infected humans have 2500. If you work as a team and shoot for the same zombie you can take them out pretty efficiently, sometimes you can even "kite" the zombie on your own and take it out (Use at your own caution :D )

Here are a few tips Id like to throw in to help those zombie players who don't have a clue what they're doing.

1. Run in zig-zags while being shot at, will increase speed a lot more than taking a stream of bullets.

2. If the humans are all chasing behind you because you are the last zombie, find a corner quickly and dart behind it. Pop out when a curious human peeks around the corner and BAM! Got them!

3. Remember to use crouch jump and the "use" buttom (default key is E) to get through barracades.

I'll add some more tips later probably but if you would like to add your own please do. Hope I helped some of you new comers. Sorry if some of these things aren't helpful to you as this is my first strat for any game but its mostly meant for new players.

1.On maps like office i find that alot of ppl run from the barricade when a couch falls or something, if everyone in the room concentrated there fire on tat one area zombies can't get in.
2.Aim, Dont srapy and pray, I find that alot of ppl spray like mad and half of there bullets miss the zombie, tat is how they get infected. The best thing to do especially on a map like crane or mansion, is to aim at the head. One bullet at the head will have alot of knock back on the zombie and u can probably kill the zombie wit 1 clip of ammo.
3.Narrow places are best, Places like vents are the best spots, especially on crane and assault, its probably better than the high spots since tere is only 2 sides they can come from. In the assault high spots tere is still the backalley.
Zombies:
1.When your running straight at a guy turn your back around, the bullets dont hit your head as much so jus turn around when you think your close to the human.
2.When you have humans hiding in corners wit boxes over them, just get a group of you and press e to pull him out.
Map Specific:
Humans
Mansion:Never go into windows in mansion, unless you have 10 good players in tere. Some zombies run straight into the window while the smart ones wuld b climbing on the railing right above it and dropping down. Best places are the hedges.
Assault: Vents or Roof wuld b the best, but iv started to see ppl using the barricades in the hosty room which is pretty smart too.
Italy:The top of ct spawn is best place if you have ppl boosting you tere, If not then the balcony above the apartment is best.
Office maps:Any place with a room and alot of barricades.
Crane: The top of the crane or in the vents or the bunker.
I'll add more maps when i play more of them :P
